The Soul-Made Seal exists to make the origin of creative work visible.
As generative AI becomes part of everyday creative life, one question matters more than ever: Where does a piece of work come from?
Just as food labels allow us to distinguish between organic and highly processed food, creative works increasingly benefit from transparency about their origin. Audiences deserve to know whether a work was created by a human being, generated by AI or produced through a combination of both. Transparency builds trust and allows informed choice.
The Soul-Made Seal is a voluntary declaration of origin. It allows creators to state how a work came into being, so audiences know how they wish to engage with it.
This is not about rejecting technology. It is simply about making origin visible.
Soul-Made means that a work was created without generative AI. Conventional digital tools such as spellcheck, grammar correction, layout, formatting or colour correction may still be part of the creative process. The seal applies specifically to the creation of original content – text, image, audio and video.
As our world becomes increasingly filled with synthetic content, there will always be people looking for what is naturally human. They should be able to find it.
Creating is more than producing an outcome. It is a human process through which observation, imagination, lived experience and discernment take form. Every authentic work carries traces of the person who created it. Not only their skills but also their way of seeing, their questions, their humour, their struggles, their insights and unique presence.
The Soul-Made Seal honours exactly that.
With a background in communication design, I created the Soul-Made Seal to support transparency and informed choice. It is offered in good faith as a simple declaration of origin that creators may choose to apply to their own work.
With warm regards,
Vanya
